Technical Manager - Renewable Energy Projects
Core Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee preliminary design preparation during tender phase, through project execution to testing and commissioning.
- Guide teams across design, testing, and project delivery stages while reviewing outputs for quality and accuracy.
- Deliver technical direction and expertise in design, development, and system integration to ensure seamless project progress.
Leadership and Team Management
- Make rapid decisions to resolve technical issues, fostering an efficient project environment.
- Proactively engage stakeholders for motivation, problem identification, solution development, and process optimizations.
- Delegate tasks, coach, mentor, and supervise technical staff and contractors to drive accountability and performance.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and create development plans to advance team capabilities.
Technical and Commercial Oversight
- Evaluate design economics, offering insights on technical-cost optimizations for better value.
- Lead equipment selection and procurement processes for key components like modules, inverters, transformers, and cabling.
- Review tender proposals upon receipt of client documents from business development.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a secure work environment.
?Additional Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's or Postgraduate/Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Preferred: Certification in grid-connected or off-grid photovoltaic systems.
- Key skills: Project management, coordination, supervision; familiarity with AutoCAD and PV simulation tools advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to project sites domestically as needed.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
