Business Development Manager (Rooftop Solar)
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
- Identify, qualify, and secure new rooftop solar opportunities in commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue, margin, and market share goals.
- Collaborate with technical teams on site assessments to assess client needs and recommend solar solutions.
- Lead proposal creation, including financial modeling, techno-commercial analysis, and client presentations.
- Manage full sales cycle from lead generation through negotiation and contract closure.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Cultivate relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and industry contacts.
- Consult with clients on energy requirements, financial goals, and sustainability objectives.
- Deliver ongoing support across sales and project phases to foster satisfaction and repeat business.
Market Research & Strategy
- Track trends, competitors, regulations, and incentives in the solar sector.
- Produce intelligence reports with actionable recommendations to strengthen market position.
- Explore emerging segments, partnerships, and models like PPA, leasing, or zero-capex options.
Proposal & Contract Management
- Partner with engineering, procurement, and project teams for precise quotes, designs, and proposals.
- Assist in contract preparation, review, and negotiation to balance client needs with company standards.
- Ensure proposals align with financial targets and risk protocols.
Project Coordination & Handover
- Coordinate seamless project transitions to execution teams.
- Communicate all contractual, technical, and commercial details clearly.
- Provide client support during project delivery as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or equivalent.
- 5+ years in business development, sales, or project management, ideally in solar PV/renewables.
- EPCC or energy solution experience preferred.
- Deep knowledge of rooftop solar PV, PPA structures, and energy savings calculations.
- Expertise in B2B sales, strategic planning, market analysis, and pipeline building.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Basic grasp of electrical/engineering principles (advantageous).
- Advanced skills in MS Office, CRM tools, and related software.
