Job Opportunity: Senior Turnover (TAR) Coordinator
Location: Mobile, Alabama
Company: Wood Group
Start Date: ASAP (Interviews could begin next week)
Per Diem: $121/day
Position Overview:
Wood Group is currently seeking a Senior Turnover (TAR) Coordinator to support a major chemical manufacturing turnaround. This position is highly specialized and requires someone who brings a deep understanding of both chemical and power plant environments, along with exceptional documentation and turnover experience.
This is a critical and complex project, and we are seeking candidates who are detail-oriented, adaptable, and confident working in a high-stakes, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all system turnover activities related to the turnaround (TAR), ensuring full compliance with stringent documentation protocols.
- Maintain both handwritten and digital documentation — a non-negotiable requirement at this site. Both formats must be created, tracked, and turned over accurately.
- Work without reliance on P&IDs in the field, as these documents are restricted during execution due to intellectual property restrictions.
- Coordinate closely with construction, commissioning, QA/QC, and client teams to ensure all system completions are documented properly.
- Lead the development of system turnover packages, manage punch list workflows, and ensure a smooth transition from mechanical completion through startup.
- Understand and adapt to the unique chemical plant environment, including experience with welded gaskets — a highly rare procedure in the industry.
- Apply lessons learned from power plant turnaround/start-up protocols where early preparation (up to 60 days in advance) is common.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Extensive TAR (Turnaround) experience, especially within chemical manufacturing and power plants.
- Proven ability to manage complex turnover documentation under highly specific client requirements.
- Comfortable working without P&IDs in the field and able to navigate alternative verification and documentation processes.
- Familiarity with welded gasket systems is a major plus.
- Highly organized and capable of managing physical (handwritten) and digital documentation in parallel.
- Able to work independently while also collaborating with small client/owner teams.
- Available to interview quickly and mobilize to site as soon as possible.
Additional Information:
- Interview Process: 1–2 rounds, typically with 1–2 people
- Work Schedule: Full-time, TAR schedule expected
