Job Title: Directional Driller (DDx)


Location: Offshore Vietnam


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Directional Driller (DD) with extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with to join our offshore team in Vietnam. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing directional drilling operations in challenging offshore formations and basins, ensuring optimal performance and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and oversee the use of directional drilling equipment, including rotary steerable systems, measurement while drilling (MWD), and logging while drilling (LWD) tools.

• Design and execute well plans that account for complex geological formations and challenging reservoir characteristics specific to the offshore Vietnam basin.

• Monitor and analyze real-time drilling data to make informed decisions and adjustments to the drilling path, optimizing well placement and reservoir exposure.

• Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Implement and adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols, particularly in the offshore environment where risks are heightened.

• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.

• Conduct pre- and post-job briefings and prepare detailed reports on drilling performance, challenges encountered, and lessons learned.

• Stay updated with the latest technologies and advancements in directional drilling techniques to continually improve operational efficiency and outcomes.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Directional Driller, with at least 3 years specifically utilizing drilling equipment.

• In-depth knowledge of the geological complexities and challenges associated with the offshore Vietnam formations and basins, such as high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) environments and fractured reservoirs.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick, accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English.

• Valid offshore certifications, including BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) and IWCF (International Well Control Forum) Level 2 or higher.

• Willingness to work on a rotational basis in an offshore environment.
