Overview:
Lead health and safety efforts on a hydroelectric construction or maintenance project, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee safety personnel, implement site-specific safety programs, and promote a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all on-site safety activities and programs.
- Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Provide safety training and toolbox talks for all personnel.
- Advise on safety for heavy lifts, rigging, electrical hazards, confined spaces, and elevated work.
- Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and safety metrics.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, USACE standards, and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in HSE management on industrial or construction projects, preferably in the energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of =OSHA regulations and hydroelectric site hazards.
- Experience managing safety programs for turbine and generator disassembly/installation.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in challenging environments, including heavy machinery and elevated work areas.
