Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of mission-critical data center projects. This role assists project leadership and field teams in managing schedules, costs, documentation, and quality across highly technical environments. The APM plays a key role in supporting onsite coordination, subcontractor management, and client reporting while developing the skills required for long-term growth in data center project management.

Key Responsibilities
• Support safe execution of mission-critical construction activities
• Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and reports
• Assist with cost tracking, budget updates, and procurement activities
• Support preconstruction efforts, including bid packages and subcontractor coordination
• Participate in project meetings and assist with milestone tracking and client updates
• Manage core project workflows such as RFIs, submittals, and pay applications
• Assist with schedule updates and coordination of trade activities
• Support quality control efforts, particularly related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Assist with change management documentation and subcontractor coordination
• Support commissioning and turnover activities, including as-built documentation and closeout packages
• Collaborate closely with field supervision, and site operations throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
• Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 2–5 years of experience in commercial or mission-critical construction
• Exposure to data center, industrial, or high-tech facilities preferred (not required)
• Experience working with a commercial general contractor strongly preferred
