Job Title: Site Quality Specialist
Assignment Type: Full-Time, Site-Based Contingency Worker
Location: Pitlochry, Scotland / Suffolk, England
Contract Duration: 12 months (strong likelihood of extension)
Day Rate: £375 per day
Role Summary
A leading engineering and construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Site Quality Specialist to support project delivery teams in maintaining exceptional quality and compliance standards. This role plays a key part in promoting a strong quality culture, embedding our Integrated Management System (IMS), and ensuring compliance with all relevant UK regulations and specific client requirements.
The successful candidate will be site-based, with regular travel required to project locations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Implement the requirements of the Integrated Management System (IMS) at the project and site levels.
Support project teams in the development and review of quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with site delivery teams to ensure actions meet the requirements of project-specific quality plans and the IMS.
Provide expert guidance on quality assurance and quality control practices to site and project management teams.
Lead the collection and analysis of quality-related KPIs, including client-specific metrics, and support the implementation of improvement plans.
Support the Quality Manager in managing and monitoring the Quality Management System elements of the IMS.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including clients.
Conduct quality audits, inspections, and advisory visits at project sites, ensuring thorough follow-up on any findings.
Identify, promote, and share examples of best practices across the organisation.
Set an example in quality leadership, compliance, and professionalism.
Stay up to date with developments in quality management and maintain relevant qualifications or professional memberships.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum:
BSc, Diploma, or equivalent in a related engineering discipline
At least 5 years of experience in a construction environment
Strongly Preferred:
Practical knowledge of electrical infrastructure projects (e.g., cabling, transmission lines, substations)
Strong understanding of data analysis and risk assessment in a construction context
Sound organisational and time management skills
Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Chartered or working toward chartership with a relevant professional institution
National Grid Person certification
SSEN Cat 1c training
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
Physical:
Ability to navigate construction sites, including uneven terrain, on foot for up to 6 hours per day
For office work: ability to use standard office equipment, sit for extended periods, and lift items up to 10 pounds

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure
Effective communication, delegation, and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable presenting to teams and clients

Work Schedule & Travel
Standard 40-hour work week, with flexibility for additional hours as required by project demands
National travel to project sites is expected and may vary throughout the assignment
