Lead and supervise a team of data centre technicians and engineers during assigned shifts, ensuring
adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
• Conduct shift handover briefings, ensuring accurate documentation and communication of ongoing
incidents, maintenance activities, and system status.
• Monitor critical data centre infrastructure including UPS systems, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers,
generators, and BMS/DCIM platforms, responding promptly to alarms.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point during shift hours for incidents, equipment failures,
and emergency situations.
• Execute and oversee planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance tasks in
accordance with approved schedules and MOPs/SOPs.
• Issue and manage Permit to Work (PTW) and Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for
maintenance and change activities performed during shift.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors during shift, ensuring safe and compliant
execution of approved work activities.
• Carry out regular physical inspections of the data centre floor, electrical rooms, mechanical plant
rooms, and rooftop systems to identify anomalies and risks.
• Accurately log all shift activities, incidents, alarms, and maintenance actions in the CMMS and shift
logbook.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and contribute to the development of corrective
actions and improvements.
• Ensure the shift team complies with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and
Empyrion Digital operational policies.
• Assist the DC Operations Manager with operational reporting, capacity tracking, and continuous
improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related
technical discipline.
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in data centre operations, critical facilities, or a related field, with at
least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead technician capacity.
• Strong practical knowledge of data centre M&E systems including UPS, PDU, CRAC/CRAH units,
diesel generators, chillers, and fire suppression systems.
• Hands-on experience with BMS/DCIM monitoring platforms and the ability to interpret system trends
and alarms.
• Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW) systems, Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation, and
change management processes.
• Solid understanding of data centre safety requirements including electrical safety, lockout/tagout
(LOTO), and working in live environments.
• Experience operating in a 24/7 shift environment with the flexibility to work rotating shifts including
nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to remain calm and decisive during
high-pressure incidents.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is
advantageous.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CDCT, CompTIA, electrical/mechanical trade certifications) are
preferred.
