Network Engineer

Our client is looking for experienced OT/Network Engineers

Hybrid Role - Germany / London / Amsterdam

Job Description:

You will be responsible for supporting OT networking, SCADA communications, and cybersecurity integration activities across utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout the EMEA region.

The role will focus on industrial networking, communication systems, network architecture, and cybersecurity within transmission and distribution connected renewable energy projects.

You will work closely with engineering teams, clients, and field engineers to support network integration, FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and operational performance.

The main responsibilities include:

Supporting OT network integration into TSO and SCADA systems

Supporting network configuration, communication interfaces, and cybersecurity requirements

Supporting FAT/SAT testing and commissioning activities

Working with industrial networking hardware and communication systems

Supporting network documentation and change control procedures

Supporting troubleshooting activities during commissioning and project execution

Working closely with clients and subcontractors on network compliance activities

Requirements:

Essential

Degree in Computer Engineering, Networking, Information Technology or equivalent experience

Experience within utilities, transmission & distribution, renewables, substations, or energy infrastructure projects

Knowledge of:

OT networking

SCADA systems

Industrial communication systems

Cybersecurity practices

Experience with:

Routers

Firewalls

Switches

VPN technologies

Cisco networking equipment

SD-WAN

Meraki

Experience with Linux systems and scripting

Experience supporting commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, or network integration activities

Strong communication and troubleshooting skills

Fluent English

Desirable

BESS / Energy Storage experience

Python / Bash scripting experience

Knowledge of AWS, Docker, or Openstack

German language skills

Contract Details:

12-month initial contract

Hybrid working

EMEA travel required

Rate dependent on experience
