CAD Engineer

Spencer Ogden is proud to support our client, a major Belgian player in the energy sector, in searching for a HV Infrastructure CAD Engineer based in Brussels, Belgium.


Service Description:

You will be responsible for the engineering of all infrastructure projects related to the development, expansion, and refurbishment of the Belgian electricity transmission network from 30kV to 380kV.

Your team will be responsible for developing standard high-voltage and civil engineering drawings. These standard drawings are provided to project teams so they can work as efficiently and accurately as possible.

As part of a design tool migration project, many 3D model catalogue elements, along with more complex 3D models and standard drawings, must be transferred from old software tools into new platforms.

The main responsibilities include:

3D modelling and detailing of steel structures using Autodesk Advance Steel

Modelling catalogue elements using Autodesk Inventor

3D modelling and layout design of high-voltage substation buildings using Revit

After training on Substation Design Suite / P4A:

3D modelling and layout design of high-voltage substation bays


Requirements:

Essential

Degree in technical drafting/design, or equivalent experience

Experience in 3D modelling and producing 2D drawings from 3D models

Strong knowledge of one or more of the following software packages:

- Autodesk Revit

- Autodesk Inventor

- Autodesk Advance Steel

OR strong experience with similar design tools, combined with the ability and willingness to quickly learn the above software

Good command of Dutch and/or French

Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office

Ability to work both independently and within a team

Strong planning and organisational skills with a high sense of responsibility

Strong attention to detail and quality

Good communication skills

Desirable

Passive understanding of English

Strong Advantage

Knowledge of SDS/P4A software
