Spencer Ogden was commissioned by Cheniere Energy to help them source high quality candidates for the expansion of the Operations division. Cheniere Energy is the domestic leader in LNG production but with a small talent pool of industry specific experience, it is a challenge to source skilled professionals suitable for the job.
Cheniere Energy is one of the leading LNG operational facilities in the US. When they approached Spencer Ogden they were looking for operational LNG expertise to increase their talent pool and ultimately production. However, within the domestic LNG market, there is a limited number of operational facilities in the US and therefore, there is a limited number of people who are trained and have experience working within these facilities. In addition to the limited talent pool, Cheniere Energy operate in remote locations and these locations are not populated areas and require staff and contractors to either commute or move to the area.
Spencer Ogden used their Houston office as the main stakeholder to support Cheniere’s operations in Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi (two of Cheniere's facilities) as well as their HQ in Houston. Leveraging long-term relationships with key stakeholders at Cheniere, SO has been able to deliver quality candidates through its extensive CRM database with thousands of experienced candidates available. Along with consistent delivery across all three locations, a feedback loop between both parties enabled SO to present the highest quality of candidates tailored to Cheniere’s needs.
The result has been an increase in headcount for Cheniere in their Operations group. Multiple contractors have been converted to staff employees thereby increasing retention as a product of the long-term contracts.
